On the afternoon of March 24, 2025, Foreign Trade University (FTU) successfully hosted the academic seminar “Trade War and Its Impact on Global Finance” at Hall D201. The event attracted a wide audience of students, lecturers, and finance professionals. It was jointly organized by the Faculty of Banking and Finance in collaboration with SAPP Academy and the CFA Institute, aiming to provide in-depth insights into the effects of trade wars on the global economy and financial markets.
Throughout the seminar, guest speakers Mr. Pham Hong Quan and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Duc delivered thorough analyses of the current landscape of international trade conflicts. Their discussions focused on the implications of tariff policies and their cascading effects on global economic dynamics. The speakers also explored the tangible consequences on equity, bond, and currency markets, shedding light on key risks that investors should be mindful of.
The seminar featured a noteworthy contribution from Ms. Florence Wong, who shared practical financial investment strategies and emphasized the vital role the CFA designation plays in advancing careers within the Finance–Banking industry.
The interactive Q&A session created an engaging platform for students to explore real-world perspectives and receive valuable input from leading experts. A mid-event mini game added a burst of energy, fostering connection among participants and enabling them to apply newly acquired knowledge in a dynamic way.
