On the morning of August 25, 2025, the Faculty of Finance and Banking at Foreign Trade University hosted a consultation workshop on the proposal to establish the Fintech major and the undergraduate program in Fintech and Sustainable Finance. The workshop welcomed active participation from key stakeholders — including academicians, universities, employers, lecturers, and industry experts — to contribute feedback on the major and curriculum development.
The event brought together senior corporate executives, including:

In her opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vũ Thị Hiền emphasized that the workshop aimed to gather expert feedback for developing the new Fintech and Sustainable Finance training program — a long-term strategic direction for FTU. She highlighted that Fintech and Sustainable Finance integrate finance with technology, leveraging FTU’s traditional strengths while expanding into technical domains, marking an important interdisciplinary step. The University expressed its expectation that the workshop would gather valuable insights to refine objectives, learning outcomes, and competitive advantages before official implementation in 2026.
During the workshop, Dr. Nguyễn Thu Thủy presented the Proposal for Introducing the Fintech Major and the Bachelor in Fintech and Sustainable Finance, outlining program goals, expected learning outcomes, structure, content, and teaching approaches. The presentation was followed by expert talks delivered by Dr. Phạm Tiến Dũng (Head of AI, Var-Meta), Mr. Nguyễn Đức Nghĩa (Head of Professional Education, ICAEW Southeast Asia), and Ms. Phạm Minh Hương (Director, Sustainability Services, Deloitte Vietnam), who shared perspectives on industry development and program relevance.
A panel discussion ensued, providing an opportunity for the Faculty to collect valuable suggestions supporting curriculum refinement. The discussion was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Việt Dũng, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Banking, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Trần Trung Dũng, Vice Dean.
The session was active and productive, featuring extensive input and reflections from senior corporate executives, educational specialists, and experts in finance and technology. Curriculum specialists affirmed that the program aligns with core knowledge areas in Fintech and identifies appropriate specialization pathways based on market needs. Participants expressed confidence that the program would capitalize on FTU’s strengths, attract high-caliber applicants, and produce quality graduates suited to labor market demands.
In his closing remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Việt Dũng expressed sincere gratitude to speakers and guests for contributing their time, expertise, and valuable feedback, which will support the Faculty in completing the curriculum. He also welcomed continued collaboration from industry partners and experts in the program’s upcoming implementation phase.
