For the celebration of the 15th anniversary of establishment, the Faculty of Banking and Finance (FBF), Foreign Trade University solemnly organized a meeting on the evening of April 18, 2021. This is considered as a chance to review the 15-year journey of construction and development to keep moving forward and marking new milestones. It is also an opportunity to express gratitude to generations of lecturers and students as well as individuals and organizations who have contributed to the establishment and development process of FBF.
Attending the meeting, from the Board of Management of FTU, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee, President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thu Thuy – Chairman of FTU Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thu Huong – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Ngoc Tien – Vice President; together with heads/deputy heads of units under and directly under the University and lectures who had and have been working at FBF.
On the guest side, the meeting was attended by Mr. Nguyen Duc Vinh, General Director of VPBank; Mr. Nguyen Hung Minh, Former Director of the Emulation and Reward Department, Ministry of Finance, Chairman of the FTU Alumni Association; Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of Office of the State Securities Commission; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho, Director of Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment – former Vice President of FTU; Ms. Tran Thi Bao Que, Member of the Executive Board, Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB); Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Deputy Director of VCBS; and representatives of other partners of FBF.
Together with the cheerful and joyful atmosphere, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Dung – Dean of FBF reviewed the important milestones of the Faculty throughout 15 years of establishment and development. Thanks to the special care from the Board of Management of FTU and the enormous efforts of all the lectures and staffs, FBF has made remarkable achievements as well as great contributions to the provision of high-quality human resources in the sector of banking and finance, which elevates the position of FTU in a wide range of educational institutions.
Up to now, FBF has launched 5 bachelors, 2 masters program and is developing a doctoral program. These 5 bachelor programs including International Finance, Financial Analysis and Investment, Banking, High Quality Program of International Banking & Finance (English-taught program), and Advanced Program of Banking and Finance (in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland). At present, the number of full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students has reached nearly 2000. Many training programs have been recognized and accredited by national and international organizations.
Throughout 15 years of construction and development, FBF has witnessed a rapid growth in both quality and quantity. Up to now, FBF has 44 lecturers, including 5 Assoc. Prof and 12 PhD). Most of FBF members have graduated from countries with highly developed finance systems.
In addition to teaching activities, FBF members also actively doing research at all levels, writing textbooks and reference books, and getting papers published in international journals, which elevates the research activities of the whole University.
Moreover, it is no surprise that a variety of achievements in academia and social activities are seen to hold great weigh for many generations of students at FBF. With enthusiasm, creativity, and talent, they have actively participated in and won numerous awards in the playing field of finance and investment, as well as science research competitions.
Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan congratulated and praised humans of FBF on remarkable achievements and contributions to the development of FTU throughout the past 15 years. Moreover, he affirmed the important role of FBF in the enhancement of training and research activities, international cooperation, and business cooperation of the University. He also expected that the Faculty Board, staff, and students to continue promoting their achievements and maintain solidarity to keep moving forward and reaching higher goals in the future.
