The years 2020 and 2021 witnessed the boom of the stock market with numerous new accounts opened and the strong participation of the F0 generation of investors. However, since the beginning of 2022, with many unpredictable fluctuations, the stock investment channel is no longer a place of easy gains for new investors. Many investors have opted for the form of investment delegation instead of self-trading.
Investment delegation is still a relatively new concept in Vietnam but is a widely known term in developed countries under the name “Asset Management Services”.
According to a report by the auditing company PwC, the global asset management industry holds assets worth $110 trillion, which is more than 20 times the budget of the United States. However, in Vietnam, this profession is still very young. According to data from the State Securities Commission, by the end of 2020, there were only 47 fund management companies in operation.
So what is the profession of “Asset Management,” and what are its prospects for the future? Some of these questions will be answered through the talk show “ASSET MANAGEMENT PROFESSION: CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS” organized by the Faculty of Finance – Banking, Foreign Trade University.
